Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for Graduate Students
Amelia Harrison
Academic Advisor
CBCB Program, University of Delaware
An Individual Development Plan (IDP) is a tool primarily for professional development. IDPs help people define and keep track of goals, identify important skills, and create actionable plans to advance goals and skills. IDPs are common in industry and government and are slowly gaining traction in academia. This spring semester, all Bioinformatics MS and PhD students will be required to complete an IDP. This presentation will cover some of the research behind IDPs as well as requirements for Bioinformatics students.
