Manabu Torii

November 4, 2011–The Center for Bioinformatics & Computational Biology (CBCB) is extremely pleased to welcome Dr. Manabu Torii as a new Research Assistant Professor. Dr. Torii will contribute to the development of text mining systems as part of the CBCB bioinformatics infrastructure for knowledge discovery.

Dr. Torii has extensive research experience in biomedical text mining and has broad experience in bioinformatics resources and knowledge systems. Dr. Torii received his PhD in Computer & Information Sciences from the University of Delaware in 2006. He conducted two years of postdoctoral research in the Department of Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, and Biomathematics at Georgetown University Medical Center, and has served as a Research Assistant Professor at Georgetown University since 2008.

Dr. Torii is a great addition to our research team and we look forward to his contribution to the CBCB.
