Bioinformatics Data Science PhD student Suhotro Gorai was recently awarded a Sigma Xi grant for his project “Molecular Mechanisms Driving Aniridia Associated Keratopathy.”  Suhotro is advised by Dr. Melinda Duncan in the department of Biological Sciences and is the Vice President of the Bioinformatics Student Association (BiSA).

Sigma Xi’s Grants in Aid of Research (GIAR) is a highly competitive program (~10% funding rate) that awards research grants to undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students.  Two other UD doctoral students also received awards.
